Motorbiking in Central Asia is definite bucket list material. With more than 60 percent of the roads unpaved, mountain passes up to 4655 meters (over 15,000 feet), and stunning scenery, it’s the trip of a lifetime.
In general we recommend an organized tour with multiple riders, a guide, and a support 4×4. In some circumstances we’ll allow rental of one or two bikes for an unsupported trip.
***Please note that for the high mountains the weather only cooperates from June through September. Some lower elevation riding is possible in April, May, and October as well. Rentals are not available from November through March.***
Motorcycles
We offer a fleet of BMW F800GS and BMW F700GS motorcycles ready for your trip. We can organize a tour for you with a support vehicle, or you can rent and travel unsupported. Please note this very important information if you are going to travel unsupported:
- There are very few motorcycle mechanics in Central Asia
- You need to be able to do chain maintenance, change an inner tube, and do light mechanical repairs yourself
- We do everything we can to keep the bikes well maintained, but with the road conditions, breakdowns can happen
