Standard and Expedition 4×4
Kazakhstan
- Assy Plateau – Turgen to water reservoir Bartogai is allowed seasonally, depending on the rainfall.
- The road from Sati to Kaendi lake. There are two rivers crossings. You will need to employ the local services to get to the lake from Sati village and back, since locals know where it is safe to cross with a car.
- Baikonur kosmodrom (Russian territory).
- Aral sea
- Austrian road (Katon-Karagay National Park)
Kyrgyzstan
- Kok-Airyk pass – road is not exist anymore / mistake on the map
- Tong Pass – road is not exist anymore / mistake on the map
- Tosor Pass – dangerous off-road conditions. Depends on the season and weather conditions
- Altyn Arashan & Karakol gorge – forbidden for driving
- Chatyr Kol – Kel-Suu road – all bridges are damaged
- Kel-Suu lake (after yurt camp) – last 8km to the lake should be done on foot
- Enilchek (after Mayda-Adyr Base Camp) – no bridges over deep rivers
- Karkara Valley (after base camp) – no bridges over deep rivers
- Sary-Jaz Valley – dangerous off-road conditions
- KyzylOi – Toluk – dangerous off-road conditions
- Turasu Valley – no bridges over deep rivers Kel-Suu (possible to drive until the Jyrgal yurt camp but not further, leave the car there and hire horses or take a walk about 10-15 km to the lake).
- Great caution on the Altyn Emil roads. Drive slowly due to harsh road conditions.
- Many mountain roads are closed for the fall and winter seasons.
