Can I drive an IHN vehicle into Kyrgyzstan?

Yes! We charge a one-time border crossing fee of $70 for Kyrgyzstan. If you select Kyrgyzstan on your booking, we will provide you with the necessary documents to drive our vehicle across the border.

Can I drive an IHN vehicle into Uzbekistan?

Yes! We charge a one-time border crossing fee of $70 for Uzbekistan. We also require a $700 cash security deposit rather than the standard $500 security deposit. If you select Uzbekistan on your booking, we will provide you with the necessary documents to drive our vehicle across the border. An important warning about Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan has transitioned a significant percentage of their vehicles to methane or electric. This causes a problem for us because all our vehicles run on gasoline. Gasoline is available at the fuel stations, but it is commonly bad gas which will cause damage to the engine. Therefore, if you choose to drive in Uzbekistan, you must acknowledge the higher risk of needing to pay for engine repairs and/or a tow back to Kazakhstan out of pocket. Accidents of course get usual coverage. If you plan to drive in Uzbekistan, we will recommend to you the fuel companies we believe to be the most reliable. Consider, planning an itinerary that allows you to enter Uzbekistan with a full tank of fuel and leave before the tank is empty. For example, Tashkent border can be reached from Shymkent (KZ) with minimal driving.
