I can really recommend Iron Horse Nomads. We rented the Mitsubishi for two weeks. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Whenever we had small questions, we got an immidiate respons and all instructions when driving through Kazakhstan were very clear. Thanks guys!!

Great rental car Company. Only one that allows crossing boarders. Mark, a former Oklahoma resident, met us at the airport and gave great tips. He prepared us for possible situations like police intervention. Driving is fairly easy and the vehicle was in good shape. We made a loop from Almary around the Kyrgyzstan lake thru Bishkek and back in 5 days. The eastern border crossing is good on the Kazak side but roads are poor for 20 to 30 miles in Kyrgyzstan. Google led us astray once so be aware.

We hired a UAZ hunter, which was their last car available due to late notice. We had a fabulous time driving around Altyn emel, Kolsai and Kaindy. While we were unlucky with the police trying to target us as tourists, without having broken any laws. They were extremely helpful, took our phone calls on a Saturday and managed to give us some good advice / translation to get us out of the situation and continue on our journey as we only spoke English. Would recommend this company to everyone and book early as their cars all book out.
